How the 1,000 Smiles Project Came to Be
We live in a land of freedom, peace, and prosperity. There is much to be thankful for! Accordingly, we felt inspired to find a way to give back to our community in an extraordinary way.
In June, the five owners of Family First Dental met off-site for a special meeting to consider how we could more positively impact our patients, team, and community. As a result, the 1,000 SMILES PROJECT was born!
At Family First Dental, our core purpose is to touch someone’s life in a positive way and create a smile. It’s said that a mission statement is an organization’s reason for existing. We determined our mission is to create smiles! In fact, we want to bring joy into people’s lives, regardless of how we achieve it. Through Family First Dental’s 1,000 Smiles Project, together, we can truly make a difference and create a smile.

Q: How do I win?
A: Donate a toy (new and unwrapped) between November 24th and December 19th at our location next to Walmart in Rexburg and you will receive an entry into our drawing. The 5 lucky winners will be drawn at random and announced on Facebook/Instagram and contacted individually! We will have a kickoff event for the 5 winners in early January to clarify the details and help them claim their prize!
Q: Does this mean I can get any treatment I’d like?
A: The treatment needs to be diagnosed and recommended by our doctor, following a free comprehensive examination. Treatment will be those procedures deemed appropriate by our doctor and which are generally performed under the normal scope of general dentistry in our office. The total value of your treatment can be up to $5,000!
Q: When can I get treatment?
A: Your treatment can be performed anytime throughout the year but will need to be completed before December 31st, 2026. We will be there every step of the way to help you achieve your desired result.
Q: Where will I get treatment?
A: Treatment is provided during normal business hours at our location, next to Walmart in Rexburg.
Q: Who will perform my treatment?
A: Dr. Stout is highly skilled and experienced dentist with 18 years of experience. We also have two amazing hygienists within our group. We will do our best to accommodate any request you may have.
Q: Can I use my dental insurance in addition to the prize?
A: Yes, dental benefits can be used in addition to the grand prize of $5,000. So if you have $1,500 in dental benefits and you could get a total of $6,500 of dental care.
Q: Can I bring in more than one toy and get more than one entry?
A: Yes, but only one toy per entry per day please (10 entries maximum). Donate a new toy every day of the drive and you’ll be entered to win 10 times!
Q: If I win, how do I transfer my prize to someone else?
A: When winners are drawn and contacted, they will be given directions about how they can transfer their gift to another in need.
Can the prize be shared between two different people?
A: No. The prize can only be used by one person (the winner or the winner’s recipient). Unused prize money cannot be transferred to another person or carried over as a credit into the next year.
Q: The gifts that are collected; where will they go?
A: The gifts that are collected will be delivered to local families in need through local charities.
